| Long time, no chatty.
Really, nothing new to report although I do have a few jobs leads that have popped up in the last week. I had a phone interview on Tuesday and expect an in-person interview for that job in two weeks when the hiring manager is in town. The position is an email marketing specialist at a software company. Not very exciting, but with real possibilities to grow with the company. Then today I just set up another phone interview for Monday morning for a different job. I think I would work out of my home for this job, which wouldn't be bad but not really ideal for me. I want a job as much for the social benefits getting out of the house and meeting new people as for the employment opportunity. But this job has other pluses so I'll be interested to learn more on Monday. The biggest change in my life was that I finally got off my ass and cut my hair. I've been growing it without a cut since August of 2004. I know! At first, I didn't know what I wanted to do with it so I did nothing (yeah, something I'm very good at). Then I thought I'd cut it when I got a job. Well, as you know I'm still unemployed and the hair just kept growing and growing. At the beginning of the year I figured I'd let it grow a bit longer then cut it for Locks of Love. It's had the required 10" ponytail for months now and I've still done nothing about it even though I was getting a bit fed up with it. So this week I finally made the decision that this was it and the hair had to go. I planned to go to a Great Clips as they all do free hair cuts for LOL donations of 10" or more. When I checked the LOL web site to find the one closest to me, I saw that the chi-chi salon chain in town offered the same deal! I called them and got in yesterday at their location near me. I had a wonderful stylist who did a great job and I'm happy my hair is going to a good cause. Here are the pics - Wednesday's hair ![]() The inspiration picture ![]() Thursday's hair ![]()
I haven't had hair this short in at least 15 years. It's shorter than Diane's, but I'm happy with the cut and style. I'll probably maintain it longer, but it's certainly fun and kicky. |
