Day 2 2004-12-08
So, I'm sick.

Poor D's been sick for much of the last two weeks, first with a fever, chills and aches, then with cough, congestion and post nasal drip. I had successfully avoided all the germs until Monday, when I started feeling the scratchy throat and tell tale chest pain. I sucked on a lot of zinc lozenges, which really do help by cutting down on the duration and severity of colds. Yesterday was icky, but today I’m feeling better, thanks to the zinc and two nights of Nyquil, my favorite cure all. I wore out easily though with my afternoon trip to the post office and grocery store. That was enough activity for me today. I had wanted to go to the neighborhood holiday potluck tonight, to meet people and start to get involved, but I realized two things. One, I didn’t have the energy to make a dish to share, go to the dinner and mingle for two hours. Two, LOST is on tonight and there’s no way I’m going to miss it. So, yeah, two may have swayed me a wee bit more than one, but I really am tuckered out. Really.

I’m going to start prepping my Weetabix holiday card exchange cards tonight. I’ve already started receiving them, so it’s time to get cracking. I wish I'd been inspired to make handmade cards, but I had zero ideas on what to do. Every year I write a holiday letter to my friends and family and this year I still don't have any idea how I'll present it. Gah, I can’t believe it’s already the 8th of December. Happily, I finished decoratng the house a week or so ago and it looks so pretty. I think I'll take some pictures and post them this weekend. Because the prettiness needs to be shared!
