News from Columbus 2004-09-23
I can't believe it's been almost two weeks of unemployment (and more than two weeks since I updated here). I feel like the days are just flying by!

I've done a lot of work around the house, unpacking boxes, wielding shelf paper, organizing everything. My mantra is 'everything must have a home' - if there's no home for it, it has to live in the garage or in someone else's home. I'm trying to work one room at a time before moving to the next one. The kitchen and dining room are pretty much done (now, when I say done, I don't mean done-done, just organized-and-box-free-done; both rooms need painted, and the dining room needs a larger table, an area rug and more pictures on the walls) and this week has been spent on the office (the third bedroom upstairs) where both of our computers and desks live. All of the closets in this 100 year old house are too narrow to hang clothes in (which sucks) so we outfitted the one in this room with shelving to hold my computer and various officey things. It looks really great, actually, and allowed us to take out my 60"x30" desk, which frees up a lot of space (because this room is not just an office, it's our workout room (with a recumbant exercise bike and an ellipical machine) and main closet
(D installed some closet shelves on one of the walls a long time ago)). We need to install a retractable keyboard tray in my desk closet, get new window shades, and hang some kind of curtain in front of the exposed clothes. Then we'll be in business and I can move on to the next room.

Three friends are coming into town tomorrow for fun with Sarah - I'm so excited! One is the wife of my wedding photographer and she's bringing my wedding picture proofs, so everyone will get to ooh and aah over the loveliness. Can't wait!

I'm really hoping to have my announcements printed next week and out the door lickety split after that. I've been waiting for them to be done so I can include thank you notes to people who get both and I'd really like to get both tasks off my plate. I've already started to address the envelopes, but I think I'll spend Must See TV finishing that up.

Nothing really to report on the job front. Apparently everyone wants me to sell insurance and mutual funds for them, but no real nibbles yet on true marketing jobs. D is also contemplating a job change, so we have got to schedule a honeymoon now. He's looking to me to decide what to do and where to go and I, true to form, can't make a decision.
