| I just had the best weekend of my life!
Probably a half dozen people told me in the last week that I was the calmest bride they'd ever seen. The way I see it, when it comes down to hours and minutes to go, it's time to just say whatever. The seamstress altering my dress wasn't as accomplished as I'd hoped? So what. The cleaners didn't have it ready for pickup until 24 hours before ceremony? Oh, well. The party bus had faulty AC? Big deal. My bouquet wasn't really what I'd envisioned? No biggie. So many other things exceeded my expectations. Dinner was absolutely delicious, so much better than I'd even hoped for. The cake? Divine. Our photographer was wonderful, easily taking twice as many photos as expected. Starting Thursday, I made a very conscious effort to start living in the moment and enjoy everything I experienced. It would have been so easy to think of what I didn't get to yesterday or what I needed to do tomorrow, but I turned that off. I heard every word of the ceremony when it so easily could have just whizzed by. On our way to dinner, my sister asked if I wanted to look at some of the pictures she'd just taken at the park we'd stopped at. I smiled and said, "No, thanks. I'll relive it tomorrow. I want to live it today." Here are the only two pics I've seen from the weekend so far, both from my sister - a black & white one and a color one. More will most certainly be available later. |
