No, a giant cicada didn't eat me 2004-06-15
Dude. Could I *be* a bigger Dland slacker?

I'm ashamed for my absence, truly. But I've been quite the busy bee. I've actually been working at work for months now. Seriously! It's just so tragic. Many of my work hours used to be my online "me" hours, reading my favorite journals, sending personal emails and catching up on my message boards. But duty called and tasks had to be completed and no more fun for MoreSarah. But isn't MoreSarah supposed to equal MoreFun? Darn tootin'!

So while I can't promise a lot of time here, I shan't be gone this long between postings. You three people who read this thing deserve updates and news and banal tidbits about my hohum life. It's your right and I'm gonna give it to you!

Banal tidbit #1 - D and I have been taking care of projects around my house and it's almost ready to sell! Next week is my new goal to have it on the market (June 1 was my first goal and then June 14 was my second goal). I won't bore you with the nitty gritty, but there's just a few things left to do then it's off to market I go. I'm going to try selling it FSBO (for sale by owner) for a bit first. Because I figure the money I'd save by doing that is going to be my unemployment fund for when I'm jobless in Columbus. But if it doesn't move in a few weeks, I'll go the discount broker route (if you have any advice re: FSBO or discount brokers, let me know!).

My adorable little house is such a gem, I really think it'll sell itself, another reason why a full-service broker (charging 6%) doesn't interest me. I'm working on a web site that I'll put on the FSBO signs instead of a phone number. It's in the style of housenumberstreetname.com and I think it'll be a great selling tool. That's really all I'll do - do the site with tons of pictures and info, put the addy on three signs and see what happens. Good luck to me!

Banal tidbit #2 - I'm going to the Reds game tomorrow with my friend Natalie.

Banal tidbit #3 - My basement is a thing of beauty now. It took a lot of purging and cleaning, but man, it's a nice place to be.

Banal tidbit #4 - I bought a digital camera! After researching and reading online, I picked the Sony Cybershot DSC-V1. I've just started reading the book and took my first pics of D's 21 lbs. cat (yes! 21 lbs! I took my scale to his house and we weighed him for the first time! poor kitty is now on weight control chow), but so far, so good. For my birthday, some family members bought me an extra 512 MB memory card and my sister sent me an extra battery. Whee! This week/weekend I'll be taking pics of the house for the for sale site and I'll probably post some here, too. Because my house, if I haven't mentioned, is adorable!

Banal tidbit #5 - Cicadas? Suck. They're still everywhere at my house and still bitchin' up a storm. I went to D's two weekends ago and had almost forgotten how lovely it is to be cicadaless. Gah.

Banal tidbit #6 - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? Divine! Shrek 2? Delightful!

So there you go. Until next time, my pretties!
