So, I'm moving to Columbus to be with the fiance. For many reasons, this is the plan rather than the other way around (him coming here). I was thinking I'd put my house up for sale Mayish and move Juneish (the ish makes it flexible).

Well, I found out today that the Columbus job I was expecting to have with my company is not going to happen. Even though I'd been led to believe this was feasible. Since last August. Apparently now that more people are weighing in on the subject, it's doesn't make "business sense" to have my position there.

It just sucks. To have these plans based on things I'd been told that are all crap now. Sucks!

But my plans aren't changing, just the timing. I'm still going to Columbus, but I probably won't go until fallish. I want to maximize my time with a paycheck. And since we're thinking of a December wedding, I'll have time after moving to take care of weddingy things before embarking on a big job search after the honeymoon. I could start looking for a job up there now, but to have to turn around and take time off for a wedding/honeymoon might be difficult with a brand new gig.

And how cool would it be to have all that time before the wedding? I've been doing a lot of browsing online and there are so many cool DIY wedding ideas that I'd love to do, but wouldn't have the time for otherwise. So maybe I was meant to have a Martha Stewart wedding and this is the only way for that to happen!

See, there's always a silver lining. But it still sucks.
